 Maidenhead's Outdoor Fine Art Market

A Labour of Love

Art on the Street has been put together by four friends who wanted to generate a fantastic buzz about locally produced art and give artists from all over a unique platform to sell their work commission-free in Maidenhead High Street.

We were also lucky enough to have the skills, contacts and single-mindedness required to get the project off the ground. None of us have been paid for the time we have devoted to Art on the Street and no profit has been made by the organisers.

So why do we do it?

Well, you know what women are like when they get a bee in their bonnets...!

Marie Leonard

Often describing herself as a 'seller of paint' and a 'chaser of toddler', Marie is the manager of Bovilles Art Shop and can most often be found with her phone in one hand and daughter in the other.

Marie's career has seen her work for in-house and external design studios and as a marketing consultant and account manager for Ad agencies, making her ideally suited to the task of promoting Art on the Street via press, radio and online.

Harriet Brittaine

If you are looking for the person who represents the heart of Art on the Street, then Harri is it! She's a prolific artist with boundless energy and the ability to generate a buzz wherever she goes. As well as being one of the people responsible for conceiving the idea of AotS, Harri has taken on the role of designer - producing posters, flyers and this website.

Steph James

The common trait with the name 'Steph' appears to be the ability to make a million jobs seem like a breeze! Steph James is the perfect example - she is the Town Centre Manager and responsible for bringing life to Maidenhead in the form of events such as 'Maidenhead at the Movies', the annual Carnival and Art on the Street as well as working with all areas of the community to bring life and success to Maidenhead.

Steph Gay

Art on the Street's project manager and can-do person, Steph holds down a full-time job in the city, is the secretary of Maidenhead Painting Club, a member of the Tuesday Singers, juggles a hectic schedule and somehow still manages to find the time to paint!
